Presenters

Georgia Janos

Georgia Janos is a seasoned fitness professional who is known for the flow and choreography of any type of class she teaches. Her classes are fun, motivating and challenging. She is a fitness resource and has been a consultant to many clubs and directors in the Boston area. Some of her achievements include “Best of Boston” fitness instructor, Boston Magazine , AAU National and Pan-American gold medal recipient,. She spreads her energy and enthusiasm to other fitness professionals through her commitment as a continuing education provider for the national fitness organizations AFAA and ACE. Georgia currently Georgia is the northeast regional director for Boston Sports Clubs (a/ka/ TSI) where she oversees group fitness programs in clubs throughout New England and New York. Georgia believes that “fitness brings balance to ones life”.

Victoria Haffer

Victoria_23   Victoria Haffer holds a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology with over 25 years of experience in the wellness industry. As an International Wellness Presenter she has certified many personal trainers, group exercise instructors and yoga teachers. She is also a Reiki Master, Holistic Nutritionist, Clinincal Hypnotherapist and Certified Yoga/Pilates Instructor. Victoria continues her Yoga studies with Shiva Rhea, Gary Kraftsow, Anodea Judith, Erich Shiffman and Paul Grilley in topics such as Anatomy of Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Chakra Therapy. Victoria currently focuses her energy as the Fitness Director at The Kingsbury Club & Spa and on her private business “Love and Light Healing” where she combines her magical skills to facilitate transformation with her clients through balancing the mind, body and spirit connection.

Ann Saldi

Ann is known for her creative dance-based choreography, achieving elite status in the fitness industry for her specialty classes. She is an AFAA certified presenter and personal trainer, winner of the Boston Reg. Reebok FIT TV Tour, and has starred and appeared in numerous CIA videos I including staring in the 2005 CIA video. Ann has her own group exercise studio in Framingham MA. Ann is a Master Trainer for ZUMBA Fitness. Ann trains and certifies ZUMBA instructors nationwide!

Sherry Caitlin

scatlin2 Sherry is an international fitness consultant who travels nationwide and abroad presenting workshops, master classes and seminars. She is Director of Program Development for Body Bar Systems as well as a Continuing Educations Specialist for ACE and AFAA. She is a five start presenter for IDEA as well as the 2004 IDEA Program Director of the year and 2007 ECA Lifetime Achievement Award. Sherry is a regular presenter at industry conventions such as IHRSA, IDEA, Club Industry, East Coast Alliance, American Fitness Professionals, SCW and DCAC.

Sonja Agiomavritis, J.D.

sonja2010 Sonja is an AFAA & ACE certified group exercise instructor, Keiser Power Pacing certified cycling instructor and has personal trained as an ACE certified trainer. Sonja has been instructing group fitness for more than 20 years. She is a continuing education provider for ACE (American Council on Exercise) & AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America), directs corporate & school enrichment fitness programs, trains instructors and co-founded Crank Cycling Studio in 1998. In June 2007 Sonja purchased New England Fitness Company with the goal of improving the fitness industry and providing quality continuing education to fitness professionals via conferences through out the New England area. Sonja teaches group fitness in the Worcester, Metro-West and Boston. In October 2009 Sonja began studying for her 500 hour yoga teacher certification with Barbara Benaugh of the Yoga Studio in Brookline Village MA. She will complete the 500 teacher training in January 2011. She also an attorney and admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1996

Kostas Agiomavritis, M.A., B.S.

Kostas as a degree in Physical Education and a minor in Athletic Training from the University of Rhode Island as well as a Masters degree in Criminal Justice from Curry College. He is a Stage 5 certified cycling instructor, a Keiser Power Pacing certified cycling instructor, certified in C.O.B.W.E.B. (Cops On Bikes With Education For Bicyclists) and has personal trained as an AFAA certified trainer. As a personal trainer he focused on sport specific strength training. Kostas has been instructing group cycling for 13 years. He has help direct programs, trained cycling instructors and co-founded Crank Cycling Studio in 1998. In June 2007 Sonja and Kostas purchased New England Fitness Company with the goal of improving the fitness industry and providing quality continuing education to fitness professional. Kostas is also a local police officer and involved with his department’s mountain bike patrol unit. .

Curt Dalton, Cy-Yo Inc. Founder

Curt is the founder of the innovative cutting edge program Cy-Yo, Inc. He is a Madd Dogg cycling and Yogafit certified instructor. Curt has studied the disciplines of yoga abroad and returned to Boston to develop a fusion of cycling and yoga. He developed the Cy-Yo program which has gained popularity across the US and into Canada and Europe. Curt has produced a DVD of the Cy_yo program which includes a one hour class. (www.cy-yo.com)

Lorrie D. Heller, Cy-Yo Inc. Instructor Trainer

Lorrie is an ACE certified personal trainer and an AFAA certified group fitness instructor with over 16 years of teaching experience and group fitness management experience. She is currently a personal trainer at the University Club, Boston, MA and teaches on the staff of several area gyms including the Mount Auburn Club, Watertown, MA, Today’s Fitness Centers, Woburn and Burlington, MA and Summit Fitness, Bedford, MA. She is Les Mills certified in Body Pump and Body Step and holds many specialty certifications through AFAA.Throughout her career, Lorrie has always looked for innovative and effective ways to get people to commit to exercise. This means developing safe, effective, results-oriented classes that members love to attend. This is the foundation for the Basic Training class. An athletic-based training class that offers a variety of interval training segments including kickboxing, strength training, and cardio drills to increase your aerobic capacity while improving your overall strength. This class is designed for every member of your gym. Basic Training is easy to follow yet tough enough for the Marines.Lorrie is also a trainer for the Cy-Yo program. A holistic, cardio group cycling program developed by a fellow instructor, Curt Dalton. Cy-Yo introduces the mind/body elements of yoga into your cycling class though the use of yoga breathing techniques to enhance athletic performance. Visualization techniques as well as positive and negative energy aspects of our being are also incorporated into the coaching techniques to complete the total body workout.

Jeff Costa

jeff costa JEFF COSTA is the creator of Cardio Striptease, the sexiest and most successful workout program in the history of Crunch Gyms! TIME Magazine called Cardio Striptease the “artistic step-sister of stripping,” naming Jeff as the founder of “New Burlesque,” a movement of exercise culture based on the sensual arts.
Jeff is inspired by the natural beauty of the body and motivated by hi-energy music paired with contemporary movement. He is an international presenter at IDEA, ECA, RSVP Vacations, Club Med and at conventions across the United States, Europe, Russia and Japan!
Jeff is regularly featured as a celebrity trainer and fitness expert on shows including: VH1’s Rock Bodies, MTV’s Celebrity Fit Club, NBC’s The Today Show, Living Large and The Howard Stern Show. Jeff guest stars on E! Entertainment’s The Girls Next Door, teaching his Pole Dancing Fitness workouts to celebrity Playmates Bridget, Holly and Kendra!
As a Reebok Training Specialist for Jukari and renowned fitness choreographer, Jeff is committed to further developing his leadership role through advanced instructor training and education, cutting-edge program design, branded home exercise DVDs and fitness related media!

Tom Scotto, USA Cycling Elite Level Coach

Tom Scotto Tom is a USA Cycling Elite Level Coach and a competitive cyclist, competing in masters-level events in the New England region. One of Tom’s passions is bringing the skill, technique and training cyclists experience outdoors to indoor cycling classes. He has merged his degree from Berklee College of Music (drummer), coaching and presenter skills together to deliver a unique indoor cycling experience. Tom currently teaches indoor cycling at 6 different health clubs in the Boston area, as well as, in his own Coaching Lab in Arlington, MA.

Jennifer Smith

jen smith (color) Jennifer has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from WPI. She is AFFA Certified in Kick Boxing, Mat Pilates, Personal Training, Group Exercise and Step, with over 20 years experience in group fitness. She has specialty certification in Spin, BodyPump, Group Power, Silver Sneakers, Turbo Kick and Zumba. Jennifer is a former nationally ranked competitive water-skier, tri-athlete and obstacle course fitness competitor.

Rebecca Cleary, B.A.

  Rebecca is a Resist-A-Ball® Master Trainer (Circle of Excellence), a Continuing Education provider for ACE and AFAA, and an Independent Reiki Master. She holds several national certification, including ACE, AFAA, Spinning and Yogafit. Rebecca’s prior training and experience in secondary education enhances her ability to present multi-level classes.

Lisa Price-O’Brien

  Lisa is the founder of Priceless Bodies personal training studio, was named the “best instructor” by The Tab’s Metro-West two times, was an ACE & AFAA examiner, member of the original Reebok C.O.R.P.S., guest lecturer at Canyon Ranch, Norwich Spa and area schools and was a Boston Breaker’s cheerleader. Lisa’s is well known for her no frills workout, basic yet challenging formats and ability to connect with her students and clients. Her steadfast commitment to form and technique, personal attention and result driven injury free programming is the cornerstone of her fierce fitness philosophy. Presently Lisa is the General Manager of TenXSpa in Natick MA. She is not only dedicated to helping her staff excel and providing safe, fun and effective member programs, she had developed many unique class formats such as “circathon-X”, Tube Groove and more.

Soraya Doherty

 

  Soraya Doherty is a regional fitness presenter and a sought after on-camera fitness coach. She is certified by American Council on Exercise (ACE), Aerobics and Fitness Association (AFAA) and Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA). Soraya brings a strong background in Musical Theatre to the fitness arena; she holds both a BA and MA in theatre Arts and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Her theatrical teaching experience ranges from on camera acting for kids at the former San Francisco Full circle Productions to developing and instructing Dramatic Acting Courses for Patten University. Combining her talent and fitness experience, Soraya’s specialty is as a creative and innovative fitness professional. She provides original ideas to safe and effective workout formats. Cindy Evangelous

Cindy E Cindy Evangelous holds a B.S. in Exercise Science and holds certifications through AFAA, AAAI, Johnny G, Reebok, Balanced Body Pilates and EXO Chair and is also a CPR instructor. With over twenty two years of experience she is currently the manager of the group fitness program at Boston Sports Club in Westborough MA. Cindy has won two gold medals in Competitive Aerobics Training, was named the “Best of Boston Workout” in 2004, is an ACE and AFAA ceu provider and has years of experience in nutritional counseling and seminars. Cindy is a sought after and seasoned instructor who is known for creating unique workouts that encompass mind/body training and powerful effective weight training.

Lilly S. Caruso

Lilly has been practicing different forms of yoga for over eight years and has been teaching yoga in the area for last five years. She received her Yoga Teacher certification through Frog Pond Yoga in 2004 and is a registered Yoga Teacher, RYT 200, with National Yoga Alliance. Lilly also holds a certification in the Purusha Pilates/Yoga method through Health in Motion and is a PiYo certified Instructor. Lilly has continued to deepen her knowledge of Yoga by studying and completing teacher trainings and workshops with local as well as internationally known master teachers. She incorporates a variety of yoga systems into her teaching style, but has mostly been influenced by the Anusara system of Yoga which celebrates the heart and teaches that everything including ourselves is an expression of the divine. Lilly also draws from the Vinyasa Flow style of yoga, teaching students that it is possible to gain strength, flexibility and calm the mind by consciously linking breath to movement and flowing with grace through this invigorating practice. Through her teaching, Lilly strives to inspire her students to seek stillness of mind, in order to clear space, so that they can experience deep connection to self as well as to all things in the universe.

Linda McDonald

Linda McDonald is a Fitness Presenter and Master Trainer for Fusion Fitness Training™. She is a seasoned Group Fitness Instructor with over 20 years experience teaching many formats, including Spinning, Step, Pilates, Body Pump, BOSU, and Core Pole. As a Personal Trainer, she has worked with many clients, including college athletes, endurance athletes, and breast cancer recovery patients. Linda is involved in a number of community activities, including a youth fitness program, where she strives to instill the love of fitness and exercise to promote health and wellness in future generations. She also works with the Cancer Community Renewal Project www.cancer-renewal.org to raise awareness and funds to provide exercise programs for Cancer patients on Cape Cod. Linda is passionate about inspiring and educating the community on the importance of a healthy lifestyle, both in mind and body. Linda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with a minor in Business Administration. A member of Sunshine Fitness Resources www.sfresources.com, she believes in providing creative solutions to elevate and educate fitness professionals, while moving the fitness industry forward. Linda enjoys living in the beautiful, seaside community of Cape Cod, MA with her husband and two young daughters.

Micheal D’Angelo

2008-01 Mike D[1] With more than 18 years of ground breaking success in the fitness industry, Mike D’Angelo is a personal trainer in every sense of the term. A native of Boston, he is an internationally ranked natural bodybuilder (a four time winner of the Natural USA Bodybuilding Competition and a holder of Pro status from ESPN’s MuscleMania/Fitness America) and an endorsed contract model/spokesperson for a handful of well-respected fitness companies. D’Angelo holds a degree in Exercise Science and is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as an advanced trainer.
But most importantly to his many clients, he is also a personal trainer passionate about maintaining – teaching others to maintain – a healthy, balanced lifestyle through the benefits of comprehensive exercise and nutrition programs.
